Our programs are founded on the values of connection, creativity, artistic excellence, and life-long learning, and our work is rooted in a deep belief that access to the performing arts enlivens and enriches all corners of our communities. VALUES: EDUCATION

EDUCATION, COMMUNITY, AND OUTREACH

YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS Despite the challenges brought on by COVID-19, Weston has continued its commitment to creating enriching, accessible educational experiences for all. In February and March, we brought professional teaching artist and playwright John Hadden to five schools in Southern and central Vermont through the Young Playwrights program. John guided dozens of students through the creative process as they wrote original ten-minute plays. We celebrated their work by creating a book of student plays.

BEYOND THE FOURTH WALL As we launched the Reimagined 2020 Season, we focused our efforts on creating digital outreach opportunities for our audiences. Preceding the premiere of One Room , we hosted Beyond the Fourth Wall, a Zoom conversation with dozens of audience members that featured seven ONE ROOM

artists. Moderated by Executive Artistic Director Susanna Gellert, this discussion focused on the opportunities and challenges posed by creating virtual theatre. This conversation has since been viewed nearly 1000 times on YouTube.
