NEW BOARD MEMBERS
ELIZABETH PAXSON | Joined March 2020 Elizabeth is a former Director of Retail for Etro, GianFranco Ferre, and Valentino. Elizabeth has a long history of volunteer engagement focused on education and the arts in the US, England, and Nicaragua, including the Fabretto Foundation, Ready for Reading, Burr and Burton Academy, and Hunger Free Vermont. "I knew that the Weston Theatre was a very special place the moment I saw the smile on our high school daughter’s face after her first day at the summer TheatreLab workshop. There is something truly amazing about the people who choose theatre as their life’s work. I love being around that passion and commitment, and enjoy contributing to their efforts in any way that I can."
Emily Schriebl Scott Director of Development CATHERINE (RENE) WELLES | Joined May 2020 Rene is the co-owner of American Rhino - a purpose-driven fashion business that supports Kenyan land and wildlife conservation and local communit s. She has held Board positions at Miss Porter's School, the School of the Museum f Fine Arts, the Cricket Island Foundation, Myopia Hunt Club, and the Singing Beach Club. "I love the theatre, and regularly see shows with my family in New York, Cambridge, MA, and in Weston. I grew up coming to Vermont for all seasons. My goal is to make Vermont my primary residence, and I look for any reason to spend more time here."
MICHELLE A. LOWES | Joined December 2020 Michelle is an investigative dermatologist who co-founded and directed the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Treatment and Research Center at Montefiore Medical Center. She currently serves as a researcher, physician, and board member for leading institutions including the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation and Rockefeller University. "My children have enjoyed the shows at the Weston Playhouse Theatre since they were in pre-school. There was always such a great sense of excitement and anticipation every summer. I’m looking forward to helping a new generation enjoy this amazing theatre in Vermont."
MICHAEL PLAUT | Joined December 2020 Michael is a consulting and interim strategic business leader for early-stage companies in the US and France focused on finance, market outreach, organization and culture building, and operating effectiveness. Michael’s non-profit volunteerism focuses on cross-cultural and multilingual communication. "Aside from my love of theatre and live performance, furthering the work of an organization and individuals that boldly bridges cultures and seeks to unify, educate and entertain is the type of work that most interests me."
