WESTON THEATER COMPANY NEWWORKS
Postcard Plays , 2020, photo by Skye Chalmers Weston’s Original Works programs are grounded in the belief that the voice of the author is central to shaping our cultural conversation locally, nationally, and internationally. When we nurture new writing, we nurture new points of view and foster connections within our community and beyond.
Weston’s 2022 Artists’ Retreat featured Isabella Dawis , Tidtaya Sinutoke , and Nana Dakin (not pictured) and their work in development, SUNWATCHER , an experimental chamber musical inspired by classical Noh theatre.
SUNWATCHER intertwines the stories of two women – astronomer Hisako Koyama and the Japanese sun Goddess Amaterasu – and celebrates the extraordinary dedication of “hidden figures”.
