OPERATIONS UPDATE

Weston's Tad Webb Memorial Costume Shop received air conditioning in 2020 through a generous private gift. The costume shop has been in great need of A.C. for several years. The shop is used to store, build, alter, and fit every costume seen on the Weston Playhouse stages. In the heat of the summer, with all of the machines roaring, and the shop at full tilt, the A.C. will be a welcome addition for workers and artists alike.

Each summer, Weston's Young Company (YoCo) live in the Playhouse , using the upstairs beds and bathrooms as well as the kitchen on the lobby level. The Weston Community Association (WCA), the owners and stewards of the Playhouse building, have installed A.C. in the lobby, remodeled the YoCo bathrooms, and replaced the floor of the YoCo kitchen. The updates look wonderful and will be enjoyed by Playhouse inhabitants and patrons for years to come. Thank you, WCA!

One of the most historic and well-known sites in Weston will soon be home to the town’s newest gathering space. Over a year ago, members of the community searched for a place to share a meal, a glass, or a story, and WPTC provided the perfect home for this project. The Hub @ Weston will soon welcome guests into the newly-renovated Walker Farmhouse for a bite after the show in their 27-seat café, or to their gathering spaces for meetings, remote working, or to catch up with friends.

Additional 2020 projects include: - A new roof for the artist housing attached to our administrative offices - Upgraded high speed internet in all homes and theatres - Upgraded phone systems
