ARTISTIC UPDATE
One Room explored the events of this year by looking at our homes as spaces of possibility and creativity. In May, we commissioned 14 of America’s leading playwrights to create one person plays that respond to the present moment and explore the questions, “What makes a home? What stories might be hiding in its ordinary rooms?” Writers were joined by actors and directors from across the country. One Room became a New York Times Critic's Pick. Click here to watch.
Songs for Today invited Weston’s family of musical theatre writers to talk to us in song about the stories they want to tell today. Composers who have previously been with us in Weston created and recorded original songs that capture this unprecedented moment when we are all invited to care and connect in new, unique ways. Watch and listen here.
Postcard Plays is the final installment in Weston’s 2020 Reimagined Season. With this collection, we set out to produce a unique theatrical work connected to the history and landscape of our home state. Ten theatre writers with ties to Vermont were commissioned to create new work in the spirit of a postcard. Inspired by the picture of a place and time, and limited by space, the resulting pieces are surprising, funny, and moving explorations of story and form - Click here to explore.
